This panel will discuss the only solution to the healthcare crisis in the United States — free healthcare for all funded by taxing the rich. We will discuss the utter failure of our current healthcare system, and the need for a system that provides free, high-quality healthcare for everyone in America. There will be an explanation of what a free healthcare system should provide. 

We will further discuss why the billionaires and their political representatives are fighting so hard to maintain a system which has the highest costs in the industrialized world and the poorest health outcomes. Most importantly, we will discuss the strategy needed to defeat the billionaires and make free healthcare for all for a reality.

Kshama Sawant will also discuss her “Ten Lessons from the Decade of Kshama Sawant’s Socialist City Council Office.” Kshama Sawant is an Indian-American socialist and economist who served on the Seattle City Council from 2014 to 2024. She is the founder of Workers Strike Back, a nationwide organization fighting for the working class. Kshama won all four of her City Council elections, overcoming massive opposition from big business and the Democratic Party. She won the nation's highest minimum wage, the Amazon Tax, and unprecedented renters’ rights. Kshama is running for the U.S. Congress in the 2026 election against genocidal billionaire-backed Democrat Adam Smith.

Moderator: Vincent De Stefano is a life-long social justice activist. He was a founding member of Assange Defense in Southern California and sat on the National steering committee. He then served as their National Organizing Director until Julian was granted his freedom. He was the former president of the Pasadena/Foothill Chapter of the ACLU and served as a board and executive member and for the Southern California Affiliate He was an Urgent Action writer with Amnesty International for over four decades and was recognized as the Urgent Action letter writer of the year by them in 2019.
